The royal family boasts an extensive collection of tiaras, each with their own special significance. While many have their favourites, every so often, a lesser-known piece makes an appearance.
On Tuesday evening, Queen Camilla unveiled a rarely seen tiara for the first time at a diplomatic reception held at Buckingham Palace.
Radiating elegance in a blue velvet gown by Fiona Clare, the Queen accessorised with Queen Elizabeth II’s exquisite aquamarine and diamond tiara – a piece that has also been worn by the Duchess of Edinburgh in the past.
Leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have revealed everything there is to know about the beautiful piece, including its all important price tag.
Queen Camilla’s debut of the stunning diamond and aquamarine tiara showcases a timeless piece of royal history.
The tiara features five beautifully cut oval aquamarines, each set within delicate clusters of diamond ribbons and bows, all resting on a high, elegant frame.
The headpiece was first seen in 1970, when Queen Elizabeth II was photographed wearing it during her royal tour of Canada. Since then, the Duchess of Edinburgh has worn it on several occasions – including to Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg and Stephanie de Lannoy’s pre-wedding gala in 2012, an the wedding of Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O’Neill in June 2023.
