As expected, Kate Middleton well and truly stunned at the BAFTA’s last night.
Making a glamorous return to royal duties after their half-term break with their children, it was Kate and Prince William’s first appearance at the bash since 2020.
The royal couple made quite the entrance on the red carpet as they arrived at the BAFTA’s, with William looking smart in a black velvet tuxedo and Kate stunning in a reworked Alexander McQueen one-shoulder gown and statement black opera gloves – the Princess first wore the Grecian-style gown for the 2019 BAFTAs.
One part of Kate’s outfit that fine jewellery experts at Steven Stone couldn’t take their eyes off was her statement earrings.
Kate’s earrings have been identified as a pair of chandelier earrings from one of her favourite high street stores, Zara.
Floral shaped and featuring rhinestone applique, the statement earrings retail at just £17.99 and promptly sold out online after they’d been modelled by the Princess of Wales.
Not only is the Princess of Wales a big supporter of sustainable fashion, which was showcased in her decision to re-wear the Alexander McQueen dress that she dazzled in at the 2019 awards, but she also has a penchant for affordable pieces.
Despite having access to a wealth of valuable royal jewels, Kate has been seen in several pieces of affordable jewellery over the last few months – most notably, a pair of £100 Sezane earrings that Prince Willian gifted to her on Christmas Day.
Though she’s always had a talent for mixing designer and high street pieces, Kate may be placing more of a focus on affordable pieces due to the cost of living crisis. It wouldn’t be out of the question if the Princess didn’t feel comfortable boasting valuable pieces at such a testing time for the nation.
