In 2010, she tied the knot with Russell Brand, though their relationship came to a speedy end and they filed for divorce in 2011. When one door closes, another opens and the musician tied the knot once more with Orlando Bloom in 2010.
Of course, the pro of having two engagements is having two engagement rings – and Katy certainly got lucky with hers.
To celebrate Katy’s birthday on 25th October 2023, engagement ring experts at Steven Stone have taken a close look at the sparklers that Russell and Orlando proposed with.
Engagement Ring #1

Katy Perry met Russell Brand on the set of ‘Get Him to the Greek’ – the 2010 comedy in which he starred alongside Jonah Hill. The singer had been cast in a cameo opposite Russell, who played a British rock star.
Russell proposed to Katy outside the Taj Mahal on New Year’s Eve in 2009, during the couples trip to Jaipur, India.
After a ten month engagement, the couple returned to India to marry in a private ceremony at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort outside the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary.
Katy’s engagement ring from Russell features a 2 carat diamond, set in yellow gold. The diamond is sat on a thick band, which made a bold statement on Katy’s finger.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 and immediately hit it off.
In March 2017, the couple called their relationship quits, but later reconciled. In March 2018, Katy confirmed that she was no longer single.
Orlando planned a very special proposal on Valentine’s Day in 2019, which started with dinner at an Italian restaurant before the couple boarded a helicopter. The actor proposed with a unique flower ring.
The yellow gold sparkler features a 2.50ct oval cut ruby centre stone, surrounded by a halo of eight round cut diamonds in a rub over setting.

Katy’s engagement ring from Orlando is much more impressive. The yellow gold sparkler features an oval cut ruby centre stone, surrounded by a halo of eight round cut diamonds in a rub over setting. Ruby is a gemstone that is associated with passion, love, energy, courage, which makes it a particularly romantic choice of stone for an engagement ring.
Katy’s unique ring from Orlando is likely to be worth $70,000 – meaning that it’s over double the value of her ring from her previous engagement with Russell.”
