Lady Gaga has confirmed her engagement to her long-term partner, Michael Polansky. She shared the news over the weekend, while speaking to French prime minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris Olympics.
Though the superstar initially sparked engagement rumours back in April, when she was photographed walking through West Hollywood. Fans were quick to notice a massive addition to her jewellery collection.
Diamond specialists at UK retailer Steven Stone have taken a close look at the massive diamond ring that she was wearing on her left ring finger, revealing everything there is to know.
“Despite the photos being less than ideal, it’s evident that Lady Gaga’s ring features a stunningly large diamond. If this is indeed her engagement ring, she is certainly a lucky gal.
The centre stone appears to be an 8-carat oval-cut diamond – a modern cut that symbolises uniqueness, perfectly complimenting her distinctive style and bold fashion choices.
The diamond is set in a solitaire setting, which emphasises its impressive size. With 37,000 people Googling the term “solitaire ring” each month, it’s clear that they remain a popular choice for engagement rings, especially among celebrities. In fact, 53% of celebrity engagement rings featured a solitaire setting last year.
This ring is equally as – if not more – spectacular as the one from the superstars former fiancé, Taylor Kinney, which showcased a 6-carat heart-cut diamond in a solitaire setting. At the time of the couple’s engagement, I estimated its value to be a whopping £500,000.
Given the size and quality of the diamond, Lady Gaga’s latest ring is undoubtedly valuable. I would estimate its worth to be around £450,000.”
