Queen Camilla’s latest brooch is a tribute to the lightness and femininity of nature

King Charles and Queen Camilla have just concluded their inaugural royal visit to Australia since Charles ascended to the throne.

On their final day in Sydney, Camilla captivated everyone in a stunning royal blue silk cotton dress adorned with delicate embroidery by Fiona Clare.

As always, Her Majesty’s accessories stole the spotlight, particularly an intriguing dragonfly-shaped brooch that added a touch of whimsy to her ensemble.

Leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have revealed everything there is to know about the brooch, which is usually paired with another.

“Queen Camilla adorned herself with a striking dragonfly brooch, expertly crafted from white gold. The piece features a body encrusted with round-cut diamonds, while its four wings are embellished with shimmering round-cut blue sapphires. Thought to be a gift from King Charles, this brooch is part of her impressive collection from Van Cleef & Arpels.

A regal colour, blue has long been associated with royalty. However, the symbolism of this piece extends beyond its colour; it is believed to be a tribute to the lightness and femininity of nature.

This isn’t the first time Her Majesty has embraced the charm of insect-inspired jewellery; in March, she made a memorable debut with a delicate horsefly brooch during a visit to Shrewsbury. She also owns a stick insect brooch – believed to be a gift from her Father, she most notably wore to while attending the procession of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin in 2022.

I’d estimate Queen Camilla’s dragonfly brooch to be worth $35,000.”
