Sophie Wessex honours Prince Edward with a special pair of earrings

The royal family always captures the public’s attention, and there’s been a particular buzz surrounding Sophie Wessex’s appearance at an engagement in Cornwall yesterday.

Looking effortlessly sophisticated in a grey plaid trouser suit by Vince Nichols, the Duchess of Edinburgh complimented her ensemble with a chic Sophie Habsburg clutch. But it was her jewellery that truly stole the spotlight.

In a heartfelt gesture, Sophie honoured her husband, Prince Edward, by wearing the same diamond stud earrings that she wore when their engagement was first announced in 1999.

Leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have revealed everything there is to know about the sparklers.

“The Duchess of Edinburgh has beautifully honoured her husband, Prince Edward, by wearing the very diamond stud earrings that she first wore when the royal couple’s engagement was announced in 1999.

Simple yet elegant, the 2-carat earrings feature a single, radiant round-cut diamond. A timeless symbol of love and commitment, diamond studs are often given to commemorate special milestones such as anniversaries, making them a fitting tribute to the enduring bond between partners.

Sophie’s earrings are likely to be worth around $25,000 (£20,000), which is a fitting reflection of their sentimental significance.”
