The world has been completely captivated by ‘Wicked’ since its release last November, when its enchanting story, unforgettable music, and dazzling performances took cinemas by storm.
One of the standout elements of the beloved musical is the breathtaking costumes, and Ariana Grande’s portrayal of Glinda the Good Witch in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical has only heightened the fascination.
Glinda’s iconic bubble crown has become a symbol of the character’s magical allure, leaving fans just as spellbound by the costume as they are by Ariana’s performance.
Following its dazzling appearance in the newly released trailer for the second film, leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone couldn’t resist speculating on the crown’s potential value – if it were crafted from real diamonds.

A stunning and whimsical accessory, the crown that Ariana wears in the film stands 6 inches high at its tallest point. Adorned with over 200 diamantes, it sparkles brilliantly, perfectly capturing the magical essence of the character, Glinda the Good Witch.
According to costume designer Paul Tazewell, the design is based on the concept of floating bubbles, with the crown featuring a series of transparent orbs and intricate detailing, creating an ethereal, fairy-tale-like look.

What about if the crown featured REAL diamonds?
If Glinda’s crown were real, it would likely be crafted from platinum due to the metal’s exceptional strength and durability – ideal for securely holding intricate diamond settings. Its naturally white sheen also enhances the brilliance of diamonds, making it a preferred choice for high-end, luxurious pieces fit for a good witch.
Glinda’s wicked crown is adorned with round-cut diamantes, which already create a striking sparkle. If these were replaced with natural diamonds, their perfectly symmetrical shape would allow light to reflect even more brilliantly, amplifying the crown’s magical and regal aura.
Though it’s hard to say for certain, if the crown were crafted from platinum and adorned with real diamonds, it would be such a luxurious piece that its value could easily reach around £3.5 million.
“If Glinda’s crown existed in reality, platinum would be the metal of choice – renowned for its incredible strength, resilience, and lustrous silvery-white appearance. This makes it ideal for holding delicate, high-quality diamonds securely while intensifying their natural brilliance. While the crown’s round-cut diamantes already sparkle impressively, swapping them for real diamonds would elevate the effect, as their perfectly cut facets would reflect light with even greater radiance, giving the crown an unmistakably magical and majestic glow.
Though difficult to pinpoint an exact price, such a piece, crafted from platinum and adorned with genuine diamonds, could easily be valued in the region of £3.5 million, reflecting both its luxurious materials and expert craftsmanship.”
