Back in April, Lady Gaga sparked engagement rumours when she was spotted strolling through West Hollywood with a dazzling new addition to her jewellery collection, catching the eye of fans.
After attending the Paris Olympics in July, the superstar confirmed her engagement to long-time partner Michael Polansky. While close-up shots of her ring were scarce, leaving some doubt about its authenticity.
We finally got a clear look when she proudly showcased the diamond sparkler during her appearance on Carpool Karaoke’s surprise holiday special.
Now, engagement ring specialists at UK retailer Steven Stone have revealed all the details about this show-stopping rock.
“Now that we’ve confirmed the sparkler is Lady Gaga’s engagement ring, and we have some close up shots, it’s safe to say that she’s one very lucky lady.
The centre stone is a lot larger than we first thought. It appears to be a 15 carat oval cut diamond – a modern cut that symbolises uniqueness, perfectly complimenting her distinctive style and bold fashion choices.
The diamond is set in a solitaire setting, which emphasises its impressive size. With 37,000 people Googling the term “solitaire ring” each month, it’s clear that they remain a popular choice for engagement rings, especially among celebrities. In fact, 53% of celebrity engagement rings featured a solitaire setting last year.
This ring is even more spectacular than the one from the superstars former fiancé, Taylor Kinney, which showcased a 6-carat heart-cut diamond in a solitaire setting. At the time of the couple’s engagement, I estimated its value to be £500,000.
Given the size and quality of the diamond, Lady Gaga’s latest ring is undoubtedly valuable. I would estimate its worth to be a staggering $1.25 million.”
