Despite having access to an extensive collection of royal jewellery, Queen Camilla has a few steadfast favourites – including a pair of earrings she first wore on her and King Charles’s wedding day in 2005
.Fine jewellery experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have shared new insights into the pearl earrings, which are widely believed to have been a wedding gift from her husband.
“First worn on her wedding day to the then–Prince Charles in 2005, these pendant earrings have become one of Queen Camilla’s most cherished accessories. Although their origins have never been officially confirmed, they are widely believed to have been a wedding gift from King Charles.
Expertly crafted, the earrings showcase a single round diamond at the heart of a sparkling cluster, from which a lustrous round pearl elegantly dangles. Queen Camilla wears the earrings for many of her public engagements and often for evening receptions as well. In a particularly sentimental choice, she also wore them in a portrait released earlier this year to celebrate her and King Charles’s 20th wedding anniversary.
In an interview with British Vogue marking her 75th birthday in July 2022, Queen Camilla shared a candid – and somewhat controversial – view on jewellery, admitting she has never wished to have her ears pierced. This likely explains her fondness for this elegant pair, which are presumed to be clip-ons.
I would estimate the earrings’ value at approximately £38,500.”
