Anna Wintour was dripping in diamonds at ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ charity gala

To commemorate World AIDS Day on 1st December 2024, a special gala performance of ‘The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical’ took place at the Dominion Theatre in London, benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The star-studded event was attended by notable figures from fashion, entertainment, and music, including British-American media mogul Anna Wintour, who has served as Editor-in-Chief of ‘Vogue’ since 1988.

As a key figure in the fashion industry, it was no surprise that Anna exuded elegance, pairing her chic long overcoat with two exquisite diamond necklaces.

Leading diamond experts from UK retailer Steven Stone have provided a closer look at the dazzling jewels adorning the Dame’s neck, revealing that their value is far more impressive than one might expect.

“The two necklaces gracing Anna Wintour’s neck at the charity gala have been identified as exquisite creations from the renowned antique jewellers, S.J. Phillips.

The more understated of the two pieces is a diamond line necklace, with three stones forming a clasp. The piece features round-cut diamonds set in a blend of silver and gold. The diamonds range from 0.10ct to 0.65ct, with a total carat weight of approximately 11 carats. I’d estimate the elegant piece to be worth around $80,000.

Anna’s second necklace is a huge piece. Dating back to 1880, the antique diamond floral cluster necklace converts to a tiara. It features twenty-one graduated clusters, each with a larger round or cushion-cut diamond at the center, set in a cut-down collet. The clusters are surrounded by a two-row diamond border, with petal-shaped collets on the outer edge and double leaf bowtie sections in between. The central eleven clusters are detachable, allowing for versatile styling options. A piece of this magnitude is bound to come with a hefty price tag – thus, I’d estimate its value to be between $4 million and $6 million.”
