A huge congratulations are in order for Carrie Hope Fletcher and Joel Montague, who have announced their engagement.
The actress, singer, author and internet personality – most famous for her role of Éponine in Les Misérables on London’s West End and even stronger role as Tom Fletcher’s sister – confirmed her relationship with fellow actor, Joel in May of this year and the pair have had quite the fairytale romance.
Carrie took to Instagram to share the news, posting a photo of herself and her new fiance in an empty theatre – and the spotlight was well and truly on her striking ring.
Engagement ring experts at Steven Stone couldn’t want to take a closer look and have revealed everything you need to know.
Carrie’s ring features a 1.5 carat oval green emerald. Emerald is considered to be the stone of the heart because it symbolizes mercy, compassion and universal love – making it the perfect choice for Carrie as it encapsulates hers and Joel’s fairytale romance.
With 76k people googling the term ‘oval cut engagement rings’ each month globally and 64.6k searching the Instagram hashtag #ovalengagementring, oval is a shape that continues to soar and is particularly popular with celebrities.
It also features round diamonds set on the shoulder – round diamonds are the most popular diamond shape, accounting for approximately 75% of all diamonds sold.
The ring has an 8 claw setting, securing the emerald. Claw settings are a popular setting type because they allow precious stones to be seen easily due to very little of the gem being concealed.
