It didn’t take long for our first celebrity engagement of the year – Chloë Grace Moretz appeared to confirm her engagement in a New Year’s roundup post on Instagram.
The post featured a photo of the actress and her model girlfriend, Kate Harrison, at the beach, their fingers intertwined and both sporting strikingly similar rings.
Though it seems they’ve said “yes” some time ago – Chloë was seen wearing a ring on that finger in a June Instagram post – this is the first official confirmation we’ve received.
Engagement ring experts at UK retailer Steven Stone couldn’t wait to take a close look at the TWO sparklers.
“While Chloë and Kate’s engagement rings may seem identical at first glance, a closer look reveals subtle differences between the two stunning, Art Deco-inspired sparklers.
Though both feature round cut diamonds in a solitaire setting, Kate’s is set on a pave band, further accentuating its sparkle. It also appears to be crafted from platinum, adding a touch of luxury and durability.
Crafted from yellow gold, Chloë’s ring boasts a sturdier design, with the stone set slightly higher, giving it a more pronounced, bold look. Chloë’s diamond also appears slightly larger – I’d estimate it to be around 1.25ct, while Kate’s diamond seems to be around 1ct.
Symbolising eternal love and an unbreakable bond, it’s especially romantic that the couple both chose round-cut diamonds, a timeless symbol of their shared commitment.
I’d estimate Chloë’s ring to be worth around $20k, while Kate’s is likely valued at a slightly lower price of around $15k.”
