Bringing award season to an almighty end, the Oscars took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night – and it was certainly a night to remember.
The 96th Academy Awards brought a night of grandeur and splendor, with some of the biggest names in Hollywood taking home their very own iconic gold statuette.
The biggest winner of the evening was Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’. The historical biopic won seven awards from its thirteen nominations – one of which was ‘Best Actor’, which was awarded to Cillian Murphy for his role as J. Robert Oppenheimer.
Keeping it traditional in a black tux by Atelier Versace, the Irish actor was wearing a unique brooch. Men’s brooches have experienced a notable surge in popularity this year, particularly on the red carpet, so fine jewellery experts at Steven Stone couldn’t wait to take a closer look at Cillian’s.
Cillian decorated his left lapel with a unique 18 karat yellow gold brooch that appears to mimic an atomic blast.
Designed by Sauvereign, the solid brooch features a total of eight concentric trapeziums – the same shape as the interior components in Oppenheimer’s atomic bomb.
The surface of each panel is engraved with a sunburst guilloché that gives off the effect that light rays are coming out straight from the core.
After a close look, our experts estimate the bespoke piece to be worth around $20,000.
