Thanks to Netflix, Christmas has come early! The streaming service has gifted us ‘Falling for Christmas’, which is Lindsay Lohan’s first major film in over a decade.
The Christmas themed romantic comedy centres around Lindsay Lohan’s character, heiress Sierra Belmont and also stars former Glee star, Chord Overstreet.
In the trailer, Sierra gets engaged at the top of a mountain during a skii trip, with her future fiance presenting her with a HUGE ring. Though what should be a perfect moment takes an unexpected turn and Sierra has a nasty fall that causes her to lose her memory.
Engagement ring experts at Steven Stone have taken a close look at Sierra’s huge ring, revealing everything you need to know…
Featuring a 12-15 carat fancy yellow diamond in a yellow gold setting, Sierra’s engagement ring is certainly eye catching!
While white or colourless diamonds are prized for their bright sparkle, fancy yellow diamonds are loved for their rich, intense colour that comes from the presence of nitrogen in their composition. Despite being the most prevalent diamonds after white – dominating 60 percent of all fancy coloured diamonds – fancy yellow diamonds are extraordinarily rare.
The centre diamond is a radiant cut. Designed to maximise the light dispersal of the gemstone, the radiant diamond cut combines the brilliance and depth of the princess and emerald cuts.
Set on a white gold band, the centre diamond is flanked by two trapezoids on the shoulder, which look to be .80 carats each. A relatively new shape in the world of long established and dominant classic diamond cuts, trapezoids are a four-sided shape with two parallel sides and two slanted angles.
Leading diamond expert, Maxwell Stone estimates the ring to be worth $1,000,000.
“Featuring a 12-15 carat fancy yellow diamond, Sierra’s engagement ring is magnificent and just the kind of bling you’d expect to see on the finger of an heiress. Despite being the most prevalent diamonds after white – dominating 60 percent of all fancy coloured diamonds – fancy yellow diamonds are extraordinarily rare – something that’s reflected in their price. The centre diamond is a radiant cut, flanked by two trapezoids that look to be 0.80 carats each – having evolved from the taper and baguette cuts, trapezoids are a relatively new shape in the world of long established diamond cuts. I’d estimate the ring to be worth $1,000,000.”
