Wynne Evans – the opera singer famously known for his role in the ‘Go Compare’ insurance adverts – has announced his engagement to partner Liz Brookes. He popped the question during the couple’s recent romantic getaway to Morocco.
The joyful announcement was shared on social media, accompanied by a photo of Liz’s dazzling engagement ring as the couple celebrated with a glass of bubbly. Another heartwarming snap captured the moment Wynne got down on one knee.
At UK retailer Steven Stone, our diamond experts are always thrilled by a celebrity proposal, and we couldn’t resist taking a closer look at the stunning new addition to Liz’s jewellery collection.

“Liz’s engagement ring from Wynne is a true showstopper, featuring a striking 1.3-carat emerald-cut diamond as its centrepiece. The elegant central stone is beautifully framed by a halo of delicate round-cut diamonds, adding brilliance and dimension. It sits atop a sparkling pavé band, likely crafted from either platinum or white gold – both luxurious choices that enhance the ring’s timeless appeal.
The emerald cut itself carries a certain understated sophistication. Known for its clean lines and vintage glamour, it symbolizes clarity, strength, and elegance – traits that often reflect the wearer’s personality. With its hall-of-mirrors effect and sleek silhouette, it’s a choice that speaks to quiet confidence and refined taste.
Based on its design and quality, I’d estimate the value to be in the region of £10,000. Not to worry though – if anything were ever to happen to it, we can only assume the iconic ‘Go Compare’ man has top-tier insurance in place!”
