Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet made their official red carpet debut on 7th May at the 70th David di Donatello Awards in Rome.
While the couple has been spotted together on several occasions, this marked the first time they posed side by side at a formal event.
Complimenting Timothée’s black velvet Tom Ford ensemble, Kylie wore an elegant black gown by Schiaparelli. However, it was her bold, eye-catching earrings that truly stole the spotlight.
Jewellery experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have taken a closer look at the statement piece – an especially intriguing choice for the beauty mogul, given the ongoing rumours surrounding her relationship with Timothée.
“Kylie Jenner took to Instagram to express her gratitude to Schiaparelli for her striking pair of statement earrings – designed to resemble a golden hand gripping the top of her ear.
Given its substantial size and intricate sculptural detail, it’s unlikely the hand is made of solid gold. More plausibly, it has been cast in brass or bronze and finished with 24k gold plating – a signature technique often used in Schiaparelli’s couture jewellery.
Adding intrigue to the piece is a sparkling, clear stone set into one of the fingers, mimicking the look of an engagement ring. The detail hasn’t gone unnoticed, especially amid ongoing rumours surrounding Kylie and Timothée Chalamet’s relationship. While the exact gemstone is hard to identify from available imagery, Schiaparelli is known for incorporating Swarovski crystals and semi-precious stones to achieve a luxurious yet surreal aesthetic – this is likely the case here.
Suspended from the base of the sculpted golden hand is a teardrop-shaped pendant in black and white, likely crafted from high-quality resin or enamel. The bold contrast between the colours evokes a sense of balance – light and dark, joy and sorrow – a subtle but powerful symbol in an otherwise dramatic design.
While this exact pair isn’t currently listed online, similar Schiaparelli styles retail for around €3,000, which converts to approximately $3,240.“
