Last night, Rihanna performed at the Superbowl and it’s safe to say that it’s all that anybody’s talking about today.
Rihanna performed at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, in front of a global audience estimated to be 100 million – taking to the field for 13 straight minutes of non-stop performing, where she sang a medley of her biggest hits.
Dressed in a bright red jumpsuit with a matching breastplate, the superstar accessorised with three vintage brooches, a watch, a ruby ring and a wealth of sparkling earrings.
Diamond experts at Steven Stone have taken a close look at the dazzling diamonds that could be seen during Rihanna’s performance, revealing everything you need to know.
It’s easy to see why everybody is talking about Rihanna’s performance today – not only did she put on a spellbinding show that showed that she still has it, but she announced her second pregnancy and wore an abundance of dazzling jewels.
Rihanna’s career hasn’t been short of statement-making jewellery moments and she’s partnered with some of the biggest and best houses in the world over the years, so it was no surprise to see her wearing pieces from world-famous designers.
The jewels that caught our eye were the three vintage brooches that Rihanna had displayed on her jacket, which were designed by Joseph Saidian and Sons. Comprised of emerald cut and round brilliant cut diamonds, Rihanna’s first brooch appears to be in the shape of a heart with a tear shaped pearl attached to the bottom. Our experts estimate it to be worth $40k.
Featuring a huge round brilliant diamond centre stone in a halo setting, surrounded by swirls of smaller round brilliant cut diamonds, Rihanna’s second brooch is almost in the shape of a medal, with lines of Princess cut and round brilliant cut diamonds taking the place of the ribbon. Our experts estimate it to be worth $60k – making it the most valuable of the three brooches.
Rihanna’s third brooch is an interesting piece – in what appears be a U shape, it features multiple diamond cuts and sizes. Our experts estimate it to be worth $35k.
Our experts have identified the watch that Rihanna was wearing as the Brilliant Skeleton Northern Lights watch from Jacob & Co, which retails for $72k.
On her right hand, Rihanna was sporting a 19.47 carat ruby ring from fine jewellery company, Bayco, which our experts estimate it to be worth a staggering $3 million.
For earrings, Rihanna chose an abundance of diamond pieces from Messiko – though they don’t appear to be available on the designers website, based on similar products on the site, these are likely to carry a total value of $12k.
Based on this information, it’s highly likely that Rihanna was sporting a staggering $3.2 million worth of diamonds during her performance at this year’s Superbowl.
