Vera Wang has shared a series of snaps taken at her 73rd birthday celebrations – a pink-themed karaoke party in New York City.
The fashion designer stunned fans with her age-defying looks that saw her flaunt her toned legs in pink shorts and platform heels. Though that’s not all she was flaunting and she was wearing some incredible jewellery – including a dazzling tiara and two huge rings!
Experts at fine jewellery and engagement ring specialists Steven Stone were keen to take a closer look.
“Vera Wang certainly celebrated her birthday in style! Her party was pink themed and she ensured that every aspect of her outfit reflected this – including her jewellery.
The piece that caught our eye was Vera’s emerald cut pink tourmaline ring. Set on white gold, it looks to be 18 carats and has a value of approximately £50,000. Vera paired the huge ring with a two stone oval and pear shaped ring – also set on white gold and featuring pink tourmaline, I’d estimate it to be worth the lesser price of £8,000.
Not only is pink tourmaline rare, but it’s also desired worldwide for its pleochroism – an optical illusion that allows the stone to showcase different hues when viewed from different angles.
The age-defying designer finished her outfit off with a dazzling diamond and gemstone set tiara – complete with pink crystal embellishments to match the theme – that I’d estimate to be worth £30,000.”
