Emily and Jay said “I do!”
We created Emily’s engagement ring and were thrilled when the happy couple returned to Steven Stone for their wedding rings.
We love seeing photos from our customers’ special day and Emily and Jay’s was quite something! From floral arches to champagne towers, they certainly had it all – including appearances from their beloved pooches, Penny and Winston.
We recently had a chat with Emily about her engagement and wedding rings, Jay’s sentimental proposal, the couple’s luxurious wedding and the newest member of their family!
Can you tell us a bit about your beautiful engagement ring?
My engagement ring is an emerald cut diamond, with a platinum band.
How did Jay propose?
Jay proposed by taking me to where I grew up, it’s my happy place. We took our three dogs for a walk in the evening and walked by the lake. It was dark by the time we got there haha, but he still got down on one knee to ask me to marry him.
And what about the wedding? We hear you had some special furry guests!
We wanted a low key but still luxurious feeling wedding! We decided to go for a slightly Italian theme. A heavily laced dress, lots of herbs, olive branches etc.
We had a local church wedding and had our cocker spaniel, Penny, as our ring bearer. Winston, our Miniature dachshund joined us after the ceremony so we could walk back down the isle as a family.
Did you always have a design in mind for your wedding ring, or did you have a helping hand?
I always knew I wanted a simple wedding band but we had so much help in store (Hale branch) with choosing a band that complimented my engagement ring perfectly.
People comment all the time on my gorgeous rings and particularly how well they fit together. Nice and snug.
Have you been away on your honeymoon?
We haven’t been on our honeymoon just yet because shortly after booking our church and purchasing my wedding dress, I found out we we’re expecting! I was 19 weeks pregnant on our wedding day! We’re planning on going away for our one year anniversary to either Italy or Greece with our little boy, Edward.
