Meghan Markle exuded timeless glamour in California recently, at the launch party for Highbrow Hippie – the new haircare line created by her colourist, Kadi Lee, and business partner Myka Harris.
The Duchess dazzled in a chic strapless corset top paired with elegant black wide-leg trousers, showcasing her impeccable sense of style.
While her accessories featured a stunning gold necklace engraved with her children’s names as the standout piece, it was the sparkling ring on her pinky finger that truly caught everyone’s attention. We couldn’t help but wonder – where have we seen that ring before?
Leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have taken a close look at ring and revealed everything you need to know.
Reportedly created by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, Meghan’s pinky ring appears to feature a 3 carat emerald cut diamond in a solitaire setting.
Due to their long lines, emerald cut diamonds reflects broader and more dramatic flashes of light and are less fiery then brilliant cut diamonds – they’re also highly symbolic. Representing stability and strength, they’re a particularly fitting cut for Meghan, who has faced a series of hardships and wealth of negative media portrayal since her and Prince Harry made the decision to withdraw from the royal family.
Though there have been suggestions that the ring was gifted to Meghan by a mystery donor from the Middle East, its origin has never been confirmed. Thus, the ring has become a source of speculation – particularly since Meghan wore it on the cover of Time magazine with Prince Harry in 2021. Though that wasn’t the first glimpse we got of the sparkler and it was actually first seen on Meghan’s finger in October 2020. She’s since worn it to the 2023 Invictus Games.
Our experts estimate the ring to be worth approximately $70,000 (£56,000).
