Meghan Markle’s new signet ring connects her to a long line of royal women

From high end, valuable pieces, to affordable accessories, Meghan Markle boasts an impressive jewellery collection.

Just last month, the Duchess showcased an exquisite £337,226 ($421,759) worth of jewellery in the trailer for her upcoming Netflix series, blending elegance and luxury seamlessly.

The latest addition to her collection sparking attention is a stunning signet ring she wore at the Invictus Games in Canada, which, according to US Weekly, was a thoughtful anniversary gift from Prince Harry last year.

Jewellery experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have carefully analysed the custom piece, uncovering all the details – from its price, to the royal women it pays tribute to.

“Meghan Markle has long been a fan of meaningful, personal pieces, and her new signet ring is a perfect example. Crafted from gold, the ring is engraved with a cursive ‘HM’ paired with a coronet above it, symbolising her and Prince Harry’s royal cipher. This bespoke design was created following their marriage in 2018.

Aside from paying a romantic tribute to her husband, Meghan could also be wearing the ring to signal that she’s still a member of the royal family. Signet rings have been a symbol of royalty for centuries, traditionally worn by men – it’s widely known that King Charles has owned and worn the same signet ring since the 1970’s, the bezel distinctly engraved with the crest of the Prince of Wales.

However, the Duchess is far from the first royal woman to embrace this timeless accessory. Queen Elizabeth II was often seen wearing one, while King Charles gifted Princess Diana a signet ring before their wedding. Queen Camilla has also been spotted wearing one.

I’d estimate Meghan’s ring to be worth £4,000.”
