Queen Camilla was the first Royal in decades to wear THIS brooch

King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the National Gallery in London today, where they unveiled the official Coronation State Portraits.

The artwork, by Peter Kuhfeld and Paul S. Benney, marks the second anniversary of the crowning of His Majesty at Westminster Abbey on 6th May 2023.

The senior royal put on a vibrant display in a red dress and as always, her accessories were on point, as she was wearing a particularly special brooch that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, as well as Queen Elizabeth.

Leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have closely examined the rarely seen brooch, uncovering all the details, from its origins to its estimated value.

Queen Camilla was wearing her Raspberry Pip brooch to unveil her portrait – the same brooch that she started the year with, when she attended a service at St Mary Magdalene Church. A cherished piece from Queen Elizabeth II’s private collection, the late monarch is believed to have adored this brooch. However, it was Queen Camilla who became the first to wear it in decades when she attended the Christmas service in 2023.

Designed in the shape of a Georgian cross, the breathtaking jewel appears to be set with a combination of topaz and diamonds. Topaz is one of the clearest gemstones, and as seen with Queen Camilla’s brooch, the colour of the fabric of her coat beautifully shines through the transparent stones, enhancing their brilliance.

I’d estimate the brooch to be worth around £40,000. While that may seem significant, it’s actually quite modest compared to Queen Elizabeth II’s most expensive brooch – the Cullinan III and IV brooch, which is valued at an astonishing £50,000,000.”
