Queen Camilla’s blue pendant is the perfect emblem of a modern royal

King Charles III and Queen Camilla paid a visit to the National Stud in Newmarket today – a fitting stop for the royal couple, who, like the late Queen Elizabeth II, share a deep passion for horses.

Upon arrival, Their Majesties met with members of staff as well as representatives from various racing charities and trusts. A highlight of the day was their meeting with legendary racehorse Stradivarius, who boasts an impressive 18 Group wins – the most by any European horse.

Queen Camilla looked effortlessly elegant in a patterned silk dress, perfectly styled for summer, and carried a fan-shaped clutch bag. However, it was her choice of jewellery that caught the eye – a rarely seen necklace that added a touch of subtle charm.

Fine jewellery experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have taken a closer look at the unique piece, revealing everything there is to know about its design, significance, and estimated value.

“Queen Camilla’s necklace is a rarely seen piece, previously worn at the Christmas Day service in 2022 and again during a visit to the Garden Museum in London, when she opened the 2023 British Flowers Week Exhibition.

The pendant, in a rich royal blue enamel, stands out for both its simplicity and symbolism. Blue has become a signature colour for Queen Camilla since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II – a shade traditionally associated with trust, loyalty, and calm authority, making it a fitting choice for a modern royal seeking connection with the public.

The piece features two interlocking hearts in white enamel, subtly engraved into the surface. While its origins remain unknown, the motif of intertwined hearts is widely understood to symbolise lasting love and unity, hinting that the pendant may be a deeply personal gift – possibly from her husband, King Charles III.

Unlike most royal jewellery, the pendant is free of gemstones, which adds to its quiet charm and understated elegance. Taking all of this into account, I’d estimate its value at around $3,000 (approximately £2,400).”
