Queen Camilla’s latest brooch is a sweet nod to her relationship with Battersea

Queen Camilla shared some quality time with her sister Annabel at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Looking stunning in a cream linen dress adorned with large giraffe motifs, she watched the quarter-final action from Centre Court on the 10th day of the annual tennis event.

Her Royal Heighness never forgets her jewellery and accessorised with a charming canine brooch from her personal collection.

Fine jewellery experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have shared all the details about the brooch, including its sentimental value and how you can acquire one for yourself.

The brooch is part of the Lucky Animals line, produced by Van Cleef & Arpels. It’s been part of Queen Camilla’s personal collection for years.

Set in 18k yellow gold, the jewel depicts a Jack Russell Terrier. It boasts 2 mother-of-pearl stones and 2 onyx stones.

Mother-of-pearl refers to the iridescent lining found in the inner layer of certain mollusk shells, such as those of pearl oysters, freshwater mussels, and abalone. Wearing mother-of-pearl jewellery is believed to promote calmness and protect against negative energy. Characterised by its parallel bands of black and white, onyx is a relatively affordable stone that symbolises protection, strength and grounding.

The brooch is highly likely to be a sweet nod to her relationship with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, who she’s Patron of and adopted her two Jack Russell Terriers from.

HRH previously wore the brooch to visit the animal welfare in December 2020, during which she was accompanied by one of her dogs.

“Queen Camilla’s brooch is part of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Lucky Animals collection, which depicts a family of adorable animals.

Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this jewel showcases a Jack Russell Terrier motif adorned with two white mother-of-pearl stones and two onyx stones.

The brooch has been a cherished part of Queen Camilla’s jewellery collection for several years, serving as a heartfelt tribute to her connection with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. HRH wore this brooch previously in December 2020 when visiting the animal welfare organisation, accompanied by her Jack Russell Terrier, Beth.

Additional symbolism is associated with the brooch; while mother-of-pearl jewelry is believed to promote calmness and shield against negative energy, onyx symbolizes protection, strength, and grounding. This significance is notably fitting, given Queen Camilla’s reported comment about seeking respite from the ongoing drama within the Royal Family during her day at Wimbledon.

This particular brooch currently retails at £6,550.”
