The vintage brooch that Queen Camilla wore within hours of receiving

It’s fair to say the U.S. State Visit has been the defining headline of the week.

As is tradition, the President and First Lady exchanged gifts with Their Majesties The King and Queen. For Queen Camilla, they chose a vintage Tiffany & Co. creation – an 18k gold, diamond, and ruby flower brooch.

In a thoughtful gesture, Her Majesty wore the piece just hours later at the Beating Retreat military ceremony at Windsor Castle.

UK retailer Steven Stone’s fine jewellery experts have offered their insights into the newest piece in the Queen’s collection

“The brooch is a floral-inspired design, featuring layered gold leaves radiating outward. At its centre, there are four rubies surrounding a central diamond, forming a striking cluster. The piece has a textured, almost sculptural quality to the gold, which gives depth and dimension to the leaves.

Judging by its design, it has a mid-20th-century style, possibly from the 1950s–1970s, when naturalistic floral brooches in yellow gold with gemstone accents were very fashionable.

Wearing the brooch so shortly after receiving it was a thoughtful gesture by Queen Camilla, signalling her gratitude and respect for the gift.

I’d estimate the piece to be worth £30,000″.
