Glastonbury 2022 came to a close last night with a headline set from rapper Kendrick Lamar on the legendary Pyramid Stage and he was wearing some very interesting jewellery.
One of the most celebrated rappers of his generation, Kendrick closed the festival with a powerful set that saw him sport a diamond-encrusted crown of thorns – catching the eye of fine jewellery and engagement ring experts at Steven Stone.
Originally worn on the cover of his fifth studio album, ‘Mr Morale & The Big Steppers’, the crown is a collaboration between the rapper, his long time creative collaborator Dave Free and renowned jewellers, Tiffany & Co.
Kendrick also recently wore the crown at the Louis Vuitton menswear show in Paris on 23rd June, where he performed a live ode to the late Virgil Abloh.

“Kendrick’s crown proved central to his powerful performance on the Pyramid Stage and is without a doubt the most striking piece of jewellery that we saw across the weekend.
The crown features an impressive 8,000 cobblestone micro pave diamonds – a style that always add a great amount of depth and grandeur to a piece due to their intricate detail. This is definitely the case with Kendrick’s crown.
Referencing the crown during his set, Kendrick stated that imperfection is beautiful and that he wears it as a reminder. Seen as a badge of sin, a crown of thorns is one of the most widely recognised symbols of religious iconography and with Kendrick being vocal about his Christian faith in the past, his choice to wear the crown is an incredibly poignant one.
Totalling over 137 carats, the crown is likely to weigh around 200g. With all of this in mind, I’d estimate its value to be £165,000 ($200,000)”
