With all the buzz surrounding this year’s SAG Awards, we couldn’t resist highlighting one of our favourite celebrity accessories of the night.
Timothée Chalamet hit the black carpet in a custom Chrome Hearts leather suit, layered over a hand-dyed neon green silk shirt. He topped off his look with a bolo tie, adding a bold, vintage-inspired flair.
The actor took home the award for ‘Male Actor in a Leading Role’ for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in ‘A Complete Unknown’. His stylist, Taylor McNeill, later confirmed on Instagram that the look was a nod to one of Bob Dylan’s iconic outfits from 2011.
On the rare occasions Timothée wears a watch, he opts for timeless classics – and for his SAG Awards look, he couldn’t have chosen a more vintage-inspired piece. Attached to his bolo tie was the Féline de Cartier pendant watch.
Fine jewellery experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have unveiled the details behind the remarkable timepiece.
“On the rare occasions that Timothée Chalamet wears a watch, he rocks classics only – and for his Bob Dylan-inspired look at the SAG Awards, he couldn’t have chosen a more vintage piece than the Féline de Cartier pendant watch, attached to his bolo tie.
From the 2005 Cartier Libre collection, the 18-karat yellow gold and enamel timepiece features 78 brilliant and princess-cut diamonds. Based on sales from certified pre-owned luxury watch sites, it’s estimated to be worth around $50,000.
Timothée isn’t the first celebrity to wear a timepiece around his neck – Taylor Swift ignited the trend when she sported one at the Grammys last year and again in her ‘Fortnight’ music video.”
