Queen Camilla’s poignant brooch that pays homage to Scottish culture

Queen Mary’s jewellery collection was unparalleled, offering pieces for every occasion and setting. The remarkable collection was passed down to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II, and is now in the hands of Queen Camilla, who often showcases its treasures.

One of Queen Camilla’s latest adornments is the diamond thistle brooch, which she’s just debuted at a garden party at hers and King Charles’ official Scottish residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

As the Queen stepped out looking as elegant as ever in powder blue, leading diamond experts at UK retailer Steven Stone couldn’t wait to take a closer look a the poignant piece of jewellery – and they’ve revealed everything there is to know.

“Queen Mary’s jewellery collection was unparalleled, featuring pieces for every occasion and setting. The remarkable collection was passed down to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II, and is now in the hands of Queen Camilla, who often showcases its treasures.

One of Queen Camilla’s latest adornments is the diamond thistle brooch, which she debuted at a garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The historic piece is designed as a thistle, the floral emblem of Scotland. The long, stylized thistle is set with diamonds and flanked by a pair of thistle leaves, creating a stunning tribute to Scottish heritage.

The brooch has been used to honour Scotland for many years. Queen Mary often wore it on her coats and hats, while Queen Elizabeth II preferred to wear it on her coats during events in Scotland throughout her reign.

I’d estimate the poignant brooch, destined to remain a cherished family heirloom, to be worth £25,000.”
