UK pop singer, Becky Hill, has just revealed some stunning images of her engagement ring on Twitter after her boyfriend Charlie proposed to her on a private island in the Maldives.
In a series of photographs, the star showcases an incredible engagement ring which looks very similar to Kate Middleton’s Ceylon sapphire engagement ring, inherited from Princess Diana.
Sharing a picture of the pair kissing, she wrote: “Turns out he actually does like me 💍.”
Taking a close look at Becky’s ring, expert jeweller from Steven Stone, Maxwell Stone, reveals everything you need to know. He said:
“Becky Hill’s ring looks like it has a hexagon halo setting, with plain shoulders and yellow gold band. From the images she released on Twitter, the centre stone looks to be a 1.5ct blue sapphire, which would be worth around £10,000 ($15,000) on today’s market.“
“Sapphires have become increasingly popular since Kate Middleton showcased her 12ct Ceylon sapphire engagement ring from Prince William. Globally, the sale of blue sapphires increased by around 300 percent at the time, and even now, thanks to Netflix show The Crown, sales of sapphires continue to surge, with vintage style halo designs being extremely popular.”
In her tweets Becky also revealed some of the stuff they’d been getting up to at the five-star resort and how she was overwhelmed by the service they recieved from staff at the resort.
She said of their final day: “Our last night in paradise! @thatcharlieg took me on a private uninhabited island tour yesterday… ❤️🦜🌴 qualified my open water diving course today & about to have our last dinner on the beach 🏝 thank you so much to @siyamworld for having us stay.”
