Bella Thorne’s beautiful engagement ring – and how it compares to the one from her previous fiancé

Actress and director Bella Thorne has found love with entrepreneur Mark Emms!

Having met just last year on the beach in Ibiza at Cara Delevingne’s birthday party, the A List couple have announced their engagement.

Though before Bella met Mark, she was engaged to Benjamin Mascolo – and we couldn’t help ourselves when it came to comparing her engagement rings.

Taking a close look at photos of both rings, diamond experts at Steven Stone have revealed everything you need to know.

Mark Emms

Value: £800,000 ($1 million)

The ‘Bad Vegan’ producer reportedly proposed to the former Disney star the day before Mother’s Day, with a HUGE diamond ring.

Bella’s engagement ring from Mark features a 10ct emerald cut diamond, flanked by baguette diamonds either side.

Despite possessing a modern look, the emerald-cut diamond is one of the oldest diamond shapes. With stylistic origins tracing back to the table cut of the 1500s, the shape was originally created for emerald stones in an attempt to prevent cracks and chipping.

Based on their long, elegant body alone, it’s easy to see the high appeal of an emerald cut diamond and Bella joins a long list of celebrities who sport the vintage shape – including Beyonce, whose engagement ring boasts an 18ct emerald cut diamond and is estimated to have cost £4 million ($5 million).

Benjamin Mascolo

Value: £120,000 ($150,000)

Bella Thorne announced her engagement to Benjamin Mascolo, on Instagram in March 2021.

The Italian singer proposed to Bella after nearly two years of dating, with a diamond set halo engagement ring that weighs approximately 4ct in total. The large pear cut diamond centre stone is around 2ct and surrounded by a halo of smaller stones.

Pear shaped diamonds are a great choice for engagement rings as they are simple and classic. The diamond is also called a teardrop or pendeloque diamond – due to their shape, which combines the head of an oval shaped diamond and the tip of a marquise shaped diamond giving off stunning fire and brilliance.

“Featuring a 10ct emerald cut diamond, flanked by baguette side stones, Bella Thorne’s engagement ring from Mark Emms is quite something! Despite possessing a modern look, emerald cuts are one of the oldest diamond shapes and are said to symbolise an open heart and personal clarity. Effortlessly glamorous, a multitude of celebrities sport the shape – including Beyonce, Nicola Peltz and Sofia Richie. I’d estimate Bella’s ring from Mark to be worth £800k ($1 million).

This isn’t Bella’s first engagement ring and she was previously engaged to Benjamin Mascolo, who proposed with a diamond set pear-shaped halo ring, weighing in at approximately 4ct in total. Representing an emotional bond or connection, pear cut diamonds are a brilliant cut, known for their high sparkle. I’d estimate Bella’s ring from Benjamin to be worth £120k ($150k) – making it worth a staggering £680k ($850k) less than her ring from Mark.”
