Jay-Z is certainly a man of taste when it comes to watches – the rapper, songwriter and producer owns several rare and one-of-a-kind expensive timepieces that are worth millions.
Though as of this week, Jay-Z has one less in his impressive collection as his diamond-studded Jacob & Co watch has sold for a staggering $1.5 million at a casino night and auction, which was held to benefit his Reform Alliance charity at Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort.
Fine jewellery experts at Steven Stone have revealed everything we know about the piece – and some of the other luxury jewels in Jay-Z’s collection.
Dubbed the Caviar Tourbillon World Timer, Jay-Z originally bought the 47.5mm watch for $900k two decades ago.
Crafted from 18 carat white gold, the sparkling dial features 204 baguette diamonds that total 5.46 carats. A further 294 baguette diamonds totaling 30.06 carats span the watches bezel, case and bracelet.
According to a caption on the official Jacob & Co Instagram, the watch is a symbol of the brand and Jay-Z’s enduring friendship and a powerful statement for the cause.

Crafted from 18ct white gold, the 47.5mm watch features a dial set with 204 baguette diamonds – alongside a further 294 baguette diamonds that span its bezel, case and bracelet.
The watch isn’t just sentimental because it had been in Jay-Z’s collection for such a substantial amount of time, but also because it’s a symbol of his and the brands enduring friendship – as well as a powerful statement for the cause that the auction raised money for.
It’s not just watches that occupy Jay-Z’s jewellery box – to celebrate the birth of his and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy in 2012, the couple gifted each other dazzling blue rings to symbolise her name. Featuring a huge blue sapphire, set in platinum, Jay-Z’s has an estimated value of $400,000.”
