A huge congratulations are in order for actress Vicky McClure, who married film director Jonny Owen over the weekend.
The ‘Line of Duty’ star announced the news on Welsh radio and has also shared photos to her Instagram of the couple’s big day.
The pair met in 2013 on the British comedy film ‘Svengal’ – where they played on-screen lovers – and Jonny popped the question in 2017.
To celebrate, engagement ring experts at Steven Stone have taken another look at Vicky’s engagement ring from Jonny.
Jonny’s romantic proposal took place at Christmas time – and he popped the question with a beautiful ring.
Vicky’s ring features what appears to be a 1ct round cut diamond. The most iconic and popular of all diamond shapes, round cut diamonds are believed to signal everlasting love and eternity. Adding to their sentimentality, they’re also traditionally the first diamond that’s given as a symbol of commitment.
The diamond is sat in a solitaire setting – a classic and timeless choice for those in search of a style that will always be on trend. Solitaire settings are incredibly popular with celebrities – in our study, we found that 47% of celebrities received engagement rings in the minimalistic setting last year.
Our experts estimate Vicky’s engagement ring to be worth $20,000 (£16,000) – though it sounds like a lot to the average person, it’s actually an incredibly modest value for a celebrity engagement ring. Back in May for example, Mark Emms proposed to Bella Thorne with a $1 million (£800,000) emerald cut engagement ring.
