Megan McKenna has finally given us a glimpse of her engagement ring – and it was definitely worth the wait.
The former ‘The Only Was Is Essex’ star recently announced that her boyfriend – footballer Oliver Burke – had proposed, following the couple’s whirlwind five month romance.
Oliver prepared a picturesque proposal that took place at a beachside destination, which he took a blindfolded Megan to via boat.
Having been patiently waiting for a close up shot of Megan’s ring since the initial announcement, engagement ring specialists at UK retailer Steven Stone have revealed everything you need to know about the unique sparkler…
Based on Megan’s latest Instagram photos, her engagement ring from Oliver appears to feature a 5ct pear cut diamond in a solitaire setting, sat on a platinum band.
Shaped like a teardrop, pear cut diamonds blend the best attributes of round cut and marquise cut diamonds – it’s particularly symbolic as it’s said to represent an emotional bond or connection. Multiple celebrities own engagement rings boasting the elegant cut, including Anna Kournikova and Victoria Beckham.
A classic and timeless choice for those in search of a style that will always be on trend, solitaire settings are particularly popular with celebrities. According to our study, 47 % of celebrities were proposed to with rings in a solitaire setting last year – including Maya Jama, who received a 10ct emerald cut diamond ring, worth $635,000.
Our experts estimate Megan’s ring to be worth a staggering $200,000, which makes it the most expensive celebrity engagement ring we’ve seen this month.
So far, the most expensive celebrity engagement ring of 2023 is Lauren Sanchez’s from Jeff Bezos – the Amazon boss proposed with a 20ct round cut diamond that’s worth around $3.5 million.
