Wedding season is in full swing and the Steven Stone team can’t enough of hearing our customers love stories.
Today we’re shining the spotlight on James and Laura, who got engaged on the Grand Canal in Venice – a perfect setting for one of the most meaningful moments in their lives.
Laura recently took the time to chat to us about James’ dreamy proposal, her gorgeous engagement ring, the couple’s big day and their honeymoon which was fit for royalty!
Can you tell us a bit about your sparkling engagement ring?
James bought me the most magical engagement ring! It is the beautiful platinum wedfit style which is so special as it fits perfectly flush with my matching wedfit wedding band – love love love this! My engagement ring is a round cut diamond with three quarters of the band filled with mini matching diamonds. James also added a few beautiful custom/bespoke features – he chose the stunning petal/tulip claw as tulips are known to symbolise deep and unconditional love! Which I thought was so sweet and it is such a delicate feminine design feature! He also added a row of secret diamonds underneath my ring (as if it didn’t have enough sparkle already)! I’m obsessed! He really did think of everything and opted for your delicate 1.8mm band for my very short fingers! It’s perfect in every way!
How did James propose? We hear that he chose a picturesque location…
James booked a surprise trip to Venice for our 5 year anniversary! It was the most romantic beautiful trip with the yummiest Italian food! And on our anniversary he booked for us to go on the grand canal on a gondola. It was a very emotional (and slightly wobbly) proposal on the boat! It was so dreamy.
And what about your beautiful wedding? We’d love to hear all about it!
We felt like we were in a little love bubble all day! It was the most magical day full of family, friends and love! We had our wedding at the beautiful Hawkstone Hall in Shropshire They have the most beautiful on-site chapel where we had our ceremony! They are a grade 1 listed building but with a unique fresh, modern and airy twist throughout! We felt like Lord and Lady of the manor for the weekend.
Did you always have designs in mind for your wedding bands, or did you have a helping hand?
I just knew I had to get the Wedfit wedding band that matched my engagement ring from Steve Stone! The design for both the wedding band and engagement ring to fit flush is such a brilliant concept! I often get asked if it one combined ring as they fit so well together (they are designed to be together like James and I!)
You spent your honeymoon in the Maldives. Did it live up to its reputation as one of the most romantic destinations in the world?
Oh the Maldives! It was an absolute dream! We felt like royalty… we were waited on hand and foot! Nothing was too much trouble! We had our own personal butler, private pool beach villa and couldn’t resist the floating pool breakfast! It is the most beautiful, relaxing place with food and service out of this world! We didn’t want to come home!!! Although we were total chickens and couldn’t get out the sea quick enough when we saw a shark fin!
We also had a little puppymoon with our cocker spaniel puppy Millie! We went to the lovely Porthleven in Cornwall – it was fab to be able to extend our honeymoon celebrations!
